Forum Posting Guidelines

Posting Guidelines

The forum is a place for you to have your say - to share ideas and opinions about a topic.  The forum is moderated by a trained counsellor.  We don't want to tell you what you can or can't say, but we need to make sure the posts are 'ok' for everyone to see - that's the job of the moderator.

At Carers Australia, we want every young person to feel valued, heard and respected.  The best way to make sure your post is published on the forum is to follow the guidelines below:

  1. Say what you want to say without putting down other's ideas and opinions.
  2. We know that you will want to swear at times to express yourself however because it may be considered insulting or disrespectful to other people we will replace it with alternative symbols.
  3. Make your post relevant to the current topic.  The topic changes regularly, so if you're not interested in the current one, be sure to come back again soon and make a post - or suggest a topic!
  4. To post a comment you need to have an email address that you can access when you make your post.  This is because we will be sending you an email back to make sure you are you!
  5. You may get some good ideas about topics from the forum, but it's not a place to talk about personal problems.  If you need help, call the Carer Advisory Service on 1800 242 636 (weekdays 9am - 5pm).
  6. Your safety and wellbeing is our priority.  We hope the information on our website is helpful, however, please remember that it does not replace professional advice.  Please see your local health care professional (for example, your local GP or counsellor) to find out more information about what help is available to you.  Need help?  Click here.

Other things you might like to know

Your comment may be edited by the moderator if we feel that there is anything in it that might identify you, or put you at risk of being harmed.

  1. We will let you know if your post is published or not, via email.
  2. If you don't think another post should be on the forum (maybe because it doesn't seem respectful of others, or has some incorrect information), then contact us and let us know.  We value your feedback.
  3. If you think we can add anything to these guidelines to make the forum a better place, please let us know.
